Reid Stowe and 1000 Days at Sea have received a great deal of very favorable press coverage. This site, while open to opinions, tries to present information about Reid Stowe and 1000 Days at Sea based on evidence and deductive reasoning .

This site attempts to provide a source where the press and other parties of interest can find information quickly and easily that has been overlooked to date.

Reid Falsely Claims Beating Jon Sanders' Record

On Sunday, June 14th, 2008 - Day 421, Reid claims in his post at 1000 days at sea:

Jon Sanders, who I have often spoken about held the 1st and 2nd place records for the longest sea voyages in history. His 2nd place sea voyage of 419 days 22 hours and 10 minutes I have just surpassed.


According the the record as quoted in Wikipedia, the record Reid claims to have beaten is:

Longest period alone at sea during a continuous voyage: 419 days: 22 hours: 10 minutes

On day 420, Reid had only been ALONE at sea for 113 days. He had Soanya aboard for the first 307.

Hmmm....Day 457: Soanya gives birth to Reid's child. Anyone surprised? Anyone? Anyone??

I admit, I admire the attempt he's trying to make, but there's no argument that Reid is so far out in left field he's in the parking lot. ;-)

You'd think, maybe, that they would have taken SOME sort of precaution so that sort of thing wouldn't happen?

Now the child will be the better part of 2 years old before its father comes to see it. Sad, really.
